“Qube 3” was erected at the heart of Barcelona, where trends are born, and design is part of urban life. This 14 meter high all-mirror cube showcased the new Audi Q3. Streets, houses and passers-by were reflected on its facades, blending the cube into its surroundings. On the inside, visitors were met with “infinite space” in which everything is mirrored; the vehicle, visitors, light and movement – this stunning spatial effect emotionally underscoring the surprisingly ample interior space of the Audi Q3.Audi - Q3 Präsentation Barcelona 2011

reflective “Qube3”

An outstanding performance at an outstanding venue: from 12 to 22 May, at the heart of Barcelona, where trends are born, and design is part of urban life, a 14 meter-high all-mirror cube “Qube 3” was erected to present the new Audi Q3 in the Catalonian capital. Streets, houses and passers-by were reflected in its facades, while blending the cube into its surroundings. KMS BLACKBOX were responsible for the concept and design, brand architects Schmidhuber and Partner for design planning and execution.

multi-dimensionality as experience

The reflective “Qube3” brings to life the multi-dimensionality of the new vehicle in all its many aspects. One Q3 each flanked three sides of the impressive cube whose mirror exterior allowed it to blend in with the surroundings, creating new images and interweaving different perspectives. By situating “Qube3” in an urban setting, each of its facades reflected a different sphere of action, thus underscoring the versatility of the new Audi Q3.

thrilling spatial drama

On the inside, visitors were met with a thrilling spatial drama: smooth semi-transparent mirror walls, media content shimmering through from behind, black reflective glass surfaces, in the center a revolving stage with the Audi Q3. A spatial experience is created in which materiality and interaction apparently dissolve conventional boundaries. Replaced by infinite space in which everything is mirrored, the vehicle, visitors, light and movement - this stunning spatial effect emotionally underscoring the surprisingly ample interior space of the Audi Q3.
